I don’t disagree with him in that particular article, except I think that a fair bit of money is already - almost exclusively- directed to UL riding. But he’s right that the sport has changed significantly, and much of the camaraderie and community focus he took for granted is gone in today’s world.

I remember a COTH member who was in the Airport at the same time he was (after Rolex I believe),who made a post here that recounted him shouting and cursing at an airport employee. It was over luggage or some minor issue. Not cool.
The man has stunning balance on a horse, but there’s no need to be a primadonna.
