Roma Ice Boots - your experience?

Looking for reviews on the Roma Ice Boots ( see link below). I’ve used the Ice Horse brand before and have somehow misplaced them so I am looking for an inexpensive alternative. My main concern is if they 1. Stay cold for at least 20-30 minutes and 2. Actually get the leg cold. (I always wet the leg first which helps tremendously)

Thanks!

I fell off Finnegan in December 2015 and tore up some things in my knee. I borrowed a friend’s Roma ice boots for my knee. I would use it driving to work, home from work and at lunch. I though they got plenty cold and lasted a long time. I would buy them for my horse. God knows what people though the big red thing in the freezer at work was. They were brand new so I was not sticking horse hair in the work freezer.

I prefer the Ice Horse brand, but I have these too and they work fine.

I have it and used on my mare’s bowed tendon. I felt that based on the design I couldn’t get the ice to actually get to the leg. They do get the leg cold, when the pack is touching it, but it didn’t really work for what I needed it to do. What I ended up doing was taking a regular human ice pack (the squishy gel kind) and putting it against the tendon, then wrapping the ice wrap around that for maximum coldness. Worked fine. I liked that it was bulky enough that she couldn’t really move around in it while I was icing her
