After her hocks are feeling better, would a daisy rein help save your body while she gets stronger? An embarrassing accessory for an adult, I know, and she can still poke her nose out and get rude if she’s determined, but she won’t be able to unseat you. I’ve only dealt with ponies that root the reins from little kids’ hands, so I’m basing this off of that.
Once she’s stronger, you could take it off and follow some of the advice given above. The daisy rein could take the satisfaction pitot the behavior and lessen her motivation to root, making her more trainable.
