I just watched Rosenthal babies do very well at the Sallie Wheeler show in Lex Va. Have any reached the performance age yet for hunters? If so, how are they doing?
Wasn’t Rosenthal #1 USEF Hunter Breeding Stallion in 2016 and 2017? He was foaled in 1998 and has been standing at High Point Hanoverians for a long time.
He is #1 for hunter breeding, but not in the top 5 for actual hunter sires. Depends on your goals.
Jody, I bred a lovely Rosenthal filly out of my Jupiter mare that was sold to a top performance farm. Look for his hunter-bred babies to start hitting the performance ring over the next few years, but the ones I saw on the line were very athletic. Keep in mind that the ones you are seeing winning on the line are out of top performance mares… he passed excellent conformation, height and temperament but you need a great moving and jumping mare for the cross to work, IMO.
