NYT:
Very capable rider and connections! Best of luck to both!
Just another of the many female riders who have gotten their start with Dickie Small here in Maryland. We are very proud of her!
Go, Rosie!!! Rooting for her.
Laurierace, normally I agree with most everything you say. BUT Anna Rose got her start galloping her pony on the fields as a little kid in Somerset Hills Pony Club. We bought her (and sister Jazz’s) pony, Tux (Chavaro’s Formal Attire) who had done everything from pony racing to Civil War re-enactments. Her mom’s an eventer, so her fearlessness came through the bloodlines…
True that she raced ponies and did a lot of riding with her family (as seen in that tweeted photo) connections. However Rosie’s first employer was Dickie Small (licensed to gallop at Pimlico) and within a year, she took out her jockey’s license.
There was a nice profile of her on 60 Minutes the other night. Her family also appeared in the piece. I don’t see the full clip online yet, but it should be up soon.
^ Thanks!
I loved Rosie’s statement “There’s lot of great things in life - but there’s nothing like winning a race”. So true for jockey, trainer and owners! I hope she has a very sucessful Derby week-end.
THanks for the link, that was a great story!
Nice win for Rosie on Take Charge Indy!
Nice win for her and Delauney this aft! Ive got the fever now!
