20 international horses doing the GP, Stephen Clark giving commentary, Charlotte riding towards the end of the group, and you can judge along with a free app.

Not a bad way to spend some air conditioning time on a hot afternoon. I think it starts at 1:00 eastern time today.

20 horses today and 20 horses tomorrow. I’m really enjoying the commentary and the practice judging.

Yes! I was able to watch quite a few and the commentary has been very nice. That rider who did her first grand prix did a wonderful job - the horse was tense in the piaffe and really didnt want to sit, but she handled it well! Though i suppose it helps having charlotte as your trainer lol.

I really enjoyed the commentary and seeing so many greenies doing their first GP mixed in with some experienced competitors. A challenge trying to score along on the app. Makes you appreciate what you judges do every weekend!

I loved the commentary - was like watching a clinic from my hammock! Didn’t try the scoring app - would rather focus on what the judges are saying. Some of the spectator scores were pretty questionable but a fun idea and nice way to get people watching and interested in the sport.

I hope to be able to watch something like this again. It was so nice to see all the different horse and rider combinations. Also that many rides were not perfect but how they persevered anyway. Lovely to the hear the riders discuss their rides afterwards as well. Much appreciated.

So what did you think of the spectator judging? Did they get it mostly right? It was usually 80-100 people contributing to the scoring

I didn’t judge as I don’t think I’m competent. I’ve scribed a few grand prixs but I don’t know how to judge a piaffe or some of the other movements.

In general I thought they ended up with horses in more or less in the right order, but my impression was that, like we have long complained of competitive judging, they did not fully utilize the whole scale and scores tended to bunch around the medium; 65% or so.

I saw a few rides that were shockingly over scored, but didn’t see enough rides yo know whether they were the exception or the rule
