So I’m in the market for a new or used round pen. Was using a friends (who later on offered it to me for $200 - still kicking myself for not buying it!!) What are new ones going for? I found a used 60’ for $900 in NY but it was already sold that night… Am I just better off buying new? It seems a used one is far and few. And what is an acceptable price around Lancaster/Chester Co, Pa?
Actually, I just put mine up for sale – but I’m about a 3 or 4 hour drive from you.
Mine is the Red River heavy duty portable (2" pipe), 50’, over $3K new.
If you’re interested shoot me a PM.
I just bought about 20 panels used for 350. Best investment for me because I needed a quick set up as I am using it as a paddock for a horse to recover. 200 was a steal. New they are going for 1500 and up.
I drive 2 hours for it but totally worth it.

Price will depend upon the materials, construction, size of pipe and what gauge steel is used – and purpose. Red River is top of the line.
If it’s just a lunging or riding pen, you can probably go cheaper. If it’s a breaking pen, then you want the sturdiest you can find so it holds up over the years.
DEFINITELY check local NEW prices before buying a used pen. I’ve seen beat up/rusty TSC panel pens advertised on Craigslist for the same cost as new… Ridiculous.
I bought mine used in 2012 for $350 - it included fourteen 16-foot panels (Tarter from TSC) and no gate. Only a few years old, a bit faded but no rust. And yes, you can make a perfect circle with 16’ panels… I’ve had many comments from people that it isn’t possible to make a “round” pen with 16’ panels.
