Her filly by Galileo survived and is reportedly doing well. Not that it matters, but I do wonder if it was a uterine artery rupture…

Oh crap I loved her BC runs. What a champion mare. Rest in peace beautiful girl.
Such sad news. RIP to a true champion.
Damn, that’s punch in the gut.
There are some horses that are just beautiful to watch run, well because they are beautiful specimens of horses, who in run visually beautiful manner. She was one of those. That long ground swallowing stride, with her head and neck low, ears pricked with that determined look on her face.
Thanks for the memories girl.
She also had a 2015 colt by Tapit. I hope both of her foals live up to their mother. (Turns out this was a fake foal on PQ. I have notified their moderators)
Getting her a foal by Galileo was quite a struggle per The Bloodhorse story. I’m wondering if they might not have had some weird RH factor-like incompatibility. Getting her a foal at all was a struggle. She seems to have only been tried with Galileo.
So sad - never like to hear things like this – the risks of breeding despite top care from experts.
So very sad, such a spectacular mare.
Was so sad to hear. Lucky enough to have been able to see her at Saratoga. Another who just gave you chills with her presence.
