I went one year. It was lovely and fun to see the animals presented a little differently than at fairs here. In particular, I remember the Clydesdales looking sweet with their whiskers and feathers before being trotted out under halter. The handlers would fluff up the feathers with sawdust or some kind of fine shavings. I had never seen that before – not that I’m well versed in that breed.

I had also never seen some of the new (to me, at least) breeds of cattle. Some of the bulls were so muscled that they looked impossible, kind of freaky actually.

The Queen had several Highland ponies which I was able to walk by and see in their stalls. It was a wonderful casual atmosphere. All the animals looked great.

Oh, and they had sheep dogs herding sheep.

@Equibrit what is your favorite thing to do there? I just bought tickets and went with no prior information or thought, so I may have missed whatever the locals know to be the best part. I’m very happy with my experience but if I ever go again it would be nice to have a bit of a plan.
