Does adding recycled rubber crumbs to screenings helps to make arena footing more cushiony? And any problems with it if mixed in well with screenings
If outdoors, rubber crumb floats away in a hard rain. It does help the footing have a little more spring but it’s not that much. What it does more importantly, is help the screenings stay a little looser if you have a problem with compaction. Screenings can quickly turn into a parking lot without a little sand or rubber.
I used to use an indoor with this mix and it was quite nice. I think it was watered and harrowed very regularly, though.
