I currently have a Hawk with a rumber floor and love it I bought it in 2005. Recently my daughter was looking at 2018 model trailers with rumber floors from 3 different manufacturers. In all of them the boards were narrower, wavy and lumpy. They did not run the entire length of the horse area in a single piece instead they were shorter lengths pieced together. This is not the rumber either of us know. When asked the dealers said the rumber warps from heat or cold. Our trailer is kept out and it doesn’t warp and the boards run the entire length of the trailer. What has happened?
my guess … cost? I checked with Caple-Shaw who is a national supplier to the trailer manufacturers … the standard lengths of Rumber flooring are 6ft, 7ft, 16ft and 20ft… those are stock lengths…any custom length is available
Manufacturer says the flooring is recommended to be on 12 inch centers of crossmembers with 15 inches being the max, tongue and groove must be tightly engaged and fastened, two screws per cross member (max spread on screws is every other crossmember)… then you have a floor warrantied for 20 years in a livestock trailer

so your daughter just might want a written answer from the manufacturer
I’m curious about this too. I also have an 05 Hawk, Rumber floor runs the length of the horse area and I’ve never had an issue with warping. Trailer is outside, used year round in a climate that sees -30 regularly in the winter and 90+ in the summer, with plenty of humidity.
I was recently browsing new trailers and was told by reps of two different trailer manufacturers that the original Rumber company is closed but that other manufacturers are making a similar product
