S and Central Texas vets for lameness

Hoping to gather some feedback to help me choose a lameness vet. Currently at the top of my list are Dr. Dutton and Dr. Honnas. Would love to hear some personal experiences to help me choose. Or, if you have other recommendations for an exceptional lameness vet in the area, I’d love to hear them too. (I have personal experience with Clayton Smith, but he doesn’t travel to my barn).

For context: likely hind end issue, thinking stifles. Horse also has special front feet, so podiatry at the practice (Honnas’s practice indicates they do podiatry, but doesn’t say who is the farrier) is a bonus.

Thanks!

Dr Ball at Braken equine is a very well respected lameness specialist just outside of San Antonio near Retama

Dr. Bo Brock in La Mesa has helped horses other vets could not get going.

He operated on a horse of a friend and one of ours that other vets had not been able to help and did a wonderful job.

He is who our vets send horses for a second opinion or specially difficult surgeries.
