I’m not in love with the cover that came with my monoflap dressage saddle so I’m searching for an alternative. I really want one like the Devoucoux covers that have slits for the billets. I could certainly purchase a Dev cover for my not-Dev saddle, but even better to find a plain one. Have you seen anything like this? Thanks!
Saddle covers, at least for regular saddles are easy to make. I doubt a mono flap would be harder.
Do you know anyone who can sew?
Use a sturdy fabric like washed denim. Trace around the outside of a shaped saddle pad and add 6 inches all around. Stretch and sew elastic to the edge.

I’d just add, use a zigzag stich like you would for a buttonhole if you have to have slits for the billets or use seam binding to finish the edges around the slit.
Also, I’d make a casing for the elastic but then I sew a lot.

Seems to me that slits could be easily added to almost any standard dressage saddle cover by someone with sewing skills.
And for those of us who cannot sew there are oval eyelets or oval grommets that could be used instead.

This cover appears to have a slot at the bottom for the billets. It looks more all purpose but says it will fit a dressage saddle.

It might be worth looking at some of the etsy shops to see if someone would make you just what you want. Several that made saddle covers came up on my google search.

I’ve had 2 Devoucoux monoflap dressage saddles that came with their branded covers. Neither had slits for the billits or anything special about them. Just fleece lined and elastic all around.
