Saddle Financing

Does anyone here know of any mid-level to high end saddle companies that allow financing options on their saddles? Thanks!

A credit card lets you finance anything you want.

Well, yes, that is an obvious answer. However, it doesn’t pertain directly to the question I was asking. I asked about saddle companies that offer financing, not about the use of credit cards to obtain goods. Thanks for taking the time to reply

County is the one that I know of

County saddlery will finance at 0% interest for 1 year. I love, love, love their saddles. The reps in my area are top notch!

I know CWD does payments. But you don’t get the saddle until it’s fully paid for.

County is the only one I have ever heard of with true “financing.” You might be better off getting a small personal loan and buying a used saddle, rather than financing something new.

Most of the ones seem to allow you to make a series of like quarterly payments but as another poster said, don’t give you the saddle until it’s paid off.

PayPal also has their own credit program with 0% for 6 mo.

As with cars, my guess is that the saddles that can be financed at attractive rates are going to be ones that carry a price tag so high that buying one doesn’t make sense to anyone who needs to finance the purchase in the first place.

I’ve always bought good used cars for cash. But no-one is going to give you zero down zero percent interest for five years in order to buy a $4,000 truck from a private sale. So you actually need to have a bit of a cash cushion in order to buy good second hand. Otherwise, people often end up buying or leasing new, on low interest rates, and justifying the monthly cost as relatively small. I had a used car salesman actually tell me that the total amount wasn’t what mattered, it was the monthly payment. I just stared at him. I have a fixed salary, I can project into the future, and absolutely if I pay out $35,000 over five years, I will have less money to play with than if I pay out $5000 or $10,000 today.

Same with saddles, I’m sure. In Canadian dollars, a new County will be at least $5000 (so, more than my truck!). If you finance it over a year, that’s still almost $500 a month payments, even if they aren’t charging interest.

If you can afford $500 a month in payments, you can afford to save up for four months, and buy an excellent condition second hand saddle for $2000.

American prices might be lower across the board, but the general idea still applies.

None that I have heard of. Look in to the Chase Freedom credit card–15 months no interest.

Yes, when I was living in the US, there were always lots of great offers for new credit cards with zero per cent interest for a year or more. Of course they hoped you’d rack up a huge debt, and still have the debt when the very high interest rate kicked in. But used cleverly, they were very useful; I did very well using them for a long-distance move, and never paid any interest.

County offers the 1 year financing through a credit card with State Farm. I purchased a County Connection this year and that was the financing option presented to me, had I wanted to go that route. Honestly, if you have a credit card that offers points, etc that is a better way to go. I used my Apple Rewards card to get the gift cards then just paid it off the credit card with a check so I would not incur the interest.

Agreed about County!

Prestige financed mine but I believe it more or less was just through the dealer I worked with. I probably wouldn’t do it again.
