Can I get an opinion on saddle length? Do you think the length of this saddle is appropriate for my horse? I am struggling with the whole “last rib” rule and can’t really decide whether or not it looks to be ok in length?

Because I know one of the pros will say this: the saddle should really be girthed up to assess saddle fit.
I think you have the saddle placed too far forward in this picture (I’m sure it’s to compensate for the length concerns you have).
it does look too far forward. When you slide your hand under the flap and find the back of the shoulder blade, is it in front of the point of the tree?

I have included photos w/ the girth. I know already it is a bit wide, sent back to Hastilow USA for narrowing and flocking, but what do you think otherwise?https://www.flickr.com/photos/equineunlimited/26079587222/in/dateposted-public/https://www.flickr.com/photos/equineunlimited/26105700211/in/dateposted-public/
It does look like it goes past the last rib but if you can put a piece of colored tape behind the last rib and where that angled line intersects the top of the spine, it would be much easier. As you know, there is no skeletal support there. If there is no pressure there, such as with a very light rider or it is upswept more when mounted, then it might be a non issue.
I am 5’1 and weigh 105 lbs give or take and the saddle measure a roomier 16.5. it does seem to sweep up a bit more when I sit in it, I have expressed concerns of saddle length to Hastilow USA in hopes that they can give some knowledge too
They are certainly capable and I’m confident that if you are working with them, they can address your concerns.
