Saddle fitter suggestions- Richmond, Virginia

Hi all- I’m looking for some suggestions for saddle fitters in the Richmond, Virginia area (those who will travel to our area…or somewhere in VA that I could trailer to) for my very hard to fit boy. I’ve been working with Bill Wood and have been happy with him. However, I would like to get another skilled fitter’s opinion as well (not unlike the second, or third, doctor’s/veterinarian’s opinion). I do know that County saddles do not fit my boy, so while Ann Mary Bettenson is local and I’ve heard wonderful things about her, I’d like to look elsewhere.

Also, I’m not opposed to working long-distance with a fitter. If anyone has that experience, I’d love to hear about it.

To the extent it makes a difference in the recommendations, I am currently using an Albion Kontrol. I do think my boy will likely fit best in something from one of the British saddlers (wool flocked, flatter tree and panels).

Check out centaur saddlery. Michael Stokes is a master saddler located in Appomattox.

I always ship mine to Kim at the Galloping Grape in Warrenton. She is great and is on the BB under GallopingGrape.

Love Kim’s shop. Is she a certified saddle fitter? If so, I had no idea.
