Saddle fitters/ Southern Pines area?

My older Albion saddle is in dire need of being restuffed. Anybody know a saddle worker near Southern Pines/Aberdeen, that can do this? Also, for those who ride multiple horses, how do you have it restuffed? I only have one horse now, as two are on lease for breeding and I just lost my gelding, however, I plan to get a horse another horse soon and the mares will also come back, which means I could be riding up to four horses in 5-6 months.

There are several who work in/around So. Pines. We have Mary from M&M in Raleigh work on all of ours…the Custom person has been out recently too as several have been shopping for new saddles. I’ve been very, very happy w/Mary (I think her last name is spelled “Bowles” but can’t remember off hand) and would recommend her. Seems like there was recently a discussion about this on NCDCTA or Sandhills Equestrians FB pages…if not on both. You could always call Cabin Branch or the nice ladies at Barn Door in Aberdeen and see who they recommend.

My saddle fitter normally winters in that area. She is not accepting new clients in that area but she recommended Brita Rizzi of Dynamic Equine.

Brita Rizzi/Dynamic Equine is AMAZING and is in Southern Pines. I haul from the Outer Banks to use her!!!

Another vote for Britta Rizzi. Well trained, great reputation, nice work, very professional. Mary at M&M Tack Shop is very good too, but as her association with M&M suggests, Research Triangle is her home base whereas Britta lives near Southern Pines.

As for how you have it restuffed, you can discuss that with the fitter. If you give no instructions, they’ll probably just restuff it to a generic, off-the-rack configuration. But if it were my problem and I were getting a total strip reflock, I’d have it strip flocked and then fitted to fit the horse I was currently riding. Brand-new flocking is going to settle anyway, which means it’ll require an adjustment in a few months, so it might as well fit your current mount correctly while it’s settling. By the time it settles, you’ll have a clearer picture of which other horses might be entering the picture and can plan accordingly during the return “fluff 'er up” visit.

Another vote for Brita Rizzi of Dynamic Equine. I live in Virginia and ship my saddle to her. I would also haul my horse to her in a heart beat. I was having a tricky time fitting my gelding and based on tracings and photos she recommended looking at certain brands (for tree shape and shoulder accommodation). After I personally tried five, she suggested one and that saddle worked perfectly. She just had to flock it for him. We have several fitters here in Southeastern Virginia, but Brita is the person I trust my saddle and horse’s back to.

Is Dynamic Equine a store or vet? Sounds like a good option. Raleigh would be too far since I live 3-4 hours from there. I drive so far every day to work that I hate driving anywhere on days off.
