Does anyone have suggestions for saddles to fit a draft cross? I now use dressage tack since I used to take lessons years ago but for the last few I just like to waddle down the trail. Our saddle fits her OK but could be more comfortable for me. I don’t care for the locked in feeling of one saddle that I tried, an RL Watson, and it was too much of an A frame for her anyway. Need to have freedom in the shoulders in particular. I wouldn’t be opposed to another dressage saddle that was more comfy but it’s hard to find ones that stay off the shoulders.
Price range is flexible – I love used saddle bargains but realize I may have to suck it up and buy custom.
County Saddlery makes several saddles for wide horses. Our Irish Draught and Irish Draught Sport horses do well in County saddles.
I did not know that County makes trail saddles! I’ll check that out.

I looked on County’s website and did not see any trail saddles …
Duett specializes in wide saddles. Here’s their “trail” saddle page - http://duettsaddles.com/category/trail/ You can sometimes find used ones for sale.
