Does anyone know of any higher end (don’t have to be the ‘big names’, just high quality) saddle-makers that carry a model of monoflap jumping saddle that comes in a seat size 16 or smaller (without getting a fully customized saddle)? It seems the nice children’s jumping saddles I find are always designed for broad ponies and the hunter ring (and I already have one of those for my Welsh C if I ever want to try riding from under the belly of my TB mare). I’d really like a monoflap for her, since she’s a petite little squirrel of a girl, and I have a hard time even feeling her under my leg sometimes. When you’re a ‘used market’ buyer, finding something that fits everybody just right is tough even for average builds, then, throw a 5’1" rider on a little shark-finned TB and try to get a good fit for under $6,000 . . . . . . Any recommendations of brands to keep an eye peeled for? Thanks.
I have had a Takt made in a 16" for a very petite rider on a pony. It was a completely custom built but around 4.5 to 5k.
Take a look at Equipe - they have several models available as 16" and can also choose flap length.
gorgeous Italian saddles, in your price range and definitely more jumper than hunter style.
Devoucoux chiberta K.
Bliss makes their monoflaps down to a 15". The Loxley monoflaps can also be made on an adjustable tree (easier resell value) and they are under the $6K mark. I believe theyre closer to the $4K mark.
Harry Dabbs makes saddles down to 15" starting at $2650.
Smith Worthington makes two in a 16.5”. Their trees are factory adjustable and they have excellent customer service.
I’ve seen 16" and 16.5" Devoucoux Chibertas here and there so they exist.
