Saddle Pad Recommendations for Monoflap Saddles?

Looking for recommendations for saddle pads that would fit well with a forward flapped saddle? I recently bought a Revere monoflap and I love it but the flaps are definitely forward enough that it doesn’t fit quite right with AP saddle pads. Obviously functional and not a significant issue, but I want to see what’s out there since one can never have enough saddle pads

I’ve heard that the LeMieux ones fit well, and I assume the XC cut pads fit too. I don’t really want a completely shaped one (such as the Ecogold one) though since I prefer a more traditional look for stadium, so I was wondering if anyone has a more budget-friendly recommendation than the Lemieux? TIA!

There are websites who have the lemieux on sale, and while I haven’t used them with a monoflap I HIGHLY recommend the price point on the lemieux, and IMHO, it’s not that much more then some of the lesser quality ones.

We have 2 air mesh for every day schooling, and one of the pro sport. We also have an ecogold xc pad. I love my lemieux pads, they are perfect for stadium and dressage, they breath well, never move, wash perfectly and are not showing any wear after 2 years of regular use. I also love how structured they are.

Centerline style often has great deals on, so we are waiting to grab them from there, since we just got a second horse and we do like to have extra pads in the heat of the south.

Ogilvy Profile pads - I have a 17.5" forward and long flap Amerigo jump saddle and these pads fit beautifully. I don’t even have to size up to the large - the “regular” size fits perfectly. I’ve also got the Ogilvy Profile dressage pad for my monoflap dressage saddle that has a long flap, and it also fits very well.

They also wash really well and I love the material - slightly fuzzy underneath so they aren’t slippery, but not too thick.

ETA - note it needs to be the “Profile” pad, NOT the baby pad. The baby pad is cut straighter in front and your flap won’t fit.

Always a fan of Toklat pads and they have a ton of options, including square and shaped pads that fit my very forward flap jump saddles. Not monoflap, but my D saddle is, and I just use a regular square toklat with it, so don’t think that should matter.

Woof wear, Weatherbeeta and Shires all have Le Mieux knockoffs now. Riding Warehouse is having a 20% off sale.

I second the Ogilvy profile pads!

The other one that works well is the Dover extra long (forward) saddle pad.

Third vote for Ogilvy. I have an 18" double forward flap and the regular fits perfectly.

LeMieux!

Yes, this. I have not tried any of the knock offs but I’ve had my eye on them.

I love my LeMieux pads. They fit my forward flap jump saddle great and I also use them for my monoflap dressage saddle. I prefer their pads due to the contour of the spine of the pad, and the D-ring fasteners. Makes more sense for a monoflap. They also wash really well. I can justify the price due to the quality and the fact they they hold up well, don’t fade, no shrinking, etc.

Another vote for Ogilvy - the best, generously sized and washes up like a dream. If you are patient you can order custom colours which is fun.

I got a Weatherbeeta pad for Christmas, and I actually like it a lot. I have a very forward monoflap and find that I struggle for the right fit with most pads, but this one fit great. I haven’t tried a lemieux pad so can’t compare to the original, but I would buy the Weatherbeeta again.

Professional’s Choice came out with a really nice monoflap pad that has been very popular at the shop I work in. Nicely made, cut specifically for a monoflap, and doesn’t break the bank on price.

Dont forget to check out Success Equestrian pads also.

Thanks for these, I haven’t tried a LeMieux. My monoflap is extra long and forward and finding a pad to fit has been really tough, I usually ride in dressage pads because of it in my jumping saddle.

The Shire’s one is nice too. The only real difference from the LeMieux is that it doesn’t have the individual slots for billets (which I like for my draft x since the saddle pad wants to slide back).

I have one Ogilvy which is quite flimsy compared to the LM and Shires–I’m surprised they are so popular considering the price. But maybe they have different types?
