my brother needs some saddle pads to fit his 18" saddle - most pads do not go past the end of his saddle (at the cantle). i wanted to get him some custom made saddle pads or at least some that would fit his saddle. any suggestions? thanks
I use Back on Track pads with my 18" long/forward flap saddle. Pricey to start but the first one I bought is now 4 years old and it’s just starting to show wear where your leg goes. It’s outlasted any of the cheaper pads I’ve bought and I ride multiple horses a day with it. Oglivy can do a custom one if you’re willing to wait however many weeks it takes now to get it done. The ones they made me are actually too large for my liking!

you should do a search- there are several threads on this. I use the Toklat customs and you can get a xc cut which is enough for an 18 inch very forward xc saddle. Adams has them

This is the only “off the rack” square pad I’ve found that fits. Dover has two versions of the “extra-long” but I really like the flannel lining on this one. Some baby pads will also fit- look for something that 24.5"+. Most saddle pads are only 23".

Tuffrider and dover saddle pads are the best one’s for my mom’s 18" saddle. Back on track saddle pads fit too, but they are $$$$

Are you looking for square pads or shaped? Pacific Rim makes pad that fit most 18" and Toklat will make custom pads.

Yep, I’ve got PRI pads for both my jump and dressage saddles, which are 18". No problems with fitting their pads at all. Slightly less expensively, the TuffRiders are good, though the colors fade a bit with washing.
If you’re looking for a fitted pad, Bevals has a Butet Close Contact pad that has both seat and flap size options. I have one for hunters and love it.
