Saddle stand for vehicle?

Doesn’t look good, Dewey & TBPony. So far, no response from my fb message to Stubbs and after looking at their page, their ONLY post was in Feb. :frowning: Their website has a phone number, but I don’t really want to call England just to ask a question. Shucks.

:sigh:

Thanks for trying. I’ve lived without it this long; I guess I’ll continue to survive.

Never mind the manufacturer. The people you want to talk with are the US distributors for Stubbs, and that’s English Riding Supply. And on their web site, they state, “English Riding Supply offers many Stubbs England products on a regular basis, but any Stubbs England product can be special ordered by contacting an ERS dealer near you.”

http://www.englishridingsupply.com/en/stubbs_england_website.htm

IME, almost every area has an ERS dealer. If you have a local tack store that carries Pessoa, Ovation, Tekna, Mountain Horse, Happy Mouth, Hydrophane, One K, or Romfh, you’ve got a local ERS dealer. And if you’re not sure who your local ERS dealer is, call English Riding Supply directly. They’ve always been happy to help me on the phone.

Thanks, jn4jenny! that’s what I was trying to find out from them. I’ll have to start looking for a dealer around here.

I’ve emailed English Riding Supply to see if they can tell me what stores have them. If I hear from them I’ll post!

Terrific–thank you!

 Saddle’s belted, kids aren’t… LOL But I do think the PVC ones are nice.

OK good news and bad news. Bad news is that it looks like it is not one of the products English Riding Supply distributes regularly. The good news is that Sarah is going to talk to the buyers and see if they can bring over a test run and see if they are going to sell. I’ve emailed her the link to our thread as well so she has some evidence people are interested. I’m hoping to get one-they look so easy to pop in and out of the car.

Wow, thanks! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Cool! Please keep us updated when you hear more! I’m off to measure my car trunk now to see if it will fit, so I might be on that list, too.

It was the “Kids are in the trunk while the saddle is strapped in” pic that got me laughing too.[/QUOTE]

i’d save the saddle over kids too! even if it was an HDR!

I would definitely be in!!!

I love that Stubbs one, but what about making one with the top like this?

My business (tack consignment) has actually partnered with a local woodworker to produce lovely, affordable wooden car saddle stands, in addition to several other pieces. We are planning on having them available for sale by early December at the latest if you’re interested

I’m interested in those PVC stands, too. Please keep us informed!

That’s a step in the right direction! Thanks for getting on the trail of this and tracking people down. Keep us posted when you hear more.

I have also been a “tack gypsy” for the past couple of years. Found the perfect solution for a saddle stand that fits in the back of my little (old) Subaru Forester, at The Container Store for $14.99. It’s not on their website, but the same stand is on the Bed, Bath & Beyond website for $39.99 (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/Real-Simple-reg-Adjustable-Drying-Rack/1017445383?Keyword=laundry+drying+rack). The drying “wings” fold down out of the way, making this a very stable, mini “horse” that’s just the right height for my dressage saddle to sit on. I rolled some bubble wrap around the top bar for extra cushioning for the underside of my saddle. Since my Forester does not have a trunk, leaving my saddle exposed to sunlight, I keep it enclosed in a Kensington Saddle Carry Bag (https://kensingtonproducts.com/shop/roustabout-all-purpose-saddle-carry-bags/), which was well worth the price - great bag!

For organizing other tack and supplies in my car, I found the Mountain Smith Modular Hauler to be perfect, which I also found at The Container Store. Here it is on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Mountainsmith-Modular-Hauler-Storage-Cinnamon/dp/B001RYWHJ0.

Oh - forgot to say that the laundry drying rack that I use as a saddle stand in my car is also great to bring inside and put on the kitchen counter for cleaning my saddle!

http://www.amazon.com/Duratote-Step-Stool-Grooming-Box/dp/B002GL6UJG

The cover/step is contoured and will accommodate a wide saddle -not so sure about a narrow one, but you could put a bolster under the center. I’ve actually owned one of these, and loved certain aspects of it, but it is heavy when loaded.
