Saddle Trial Agreement

I have someone interested in my saddle for her horse, who has apparently been hard to fit. She is asking for a trial, which I understand, but she is in NY and I’m in WI.

What kind of wording should I include in the agreement?

I will be asking for full payment and shipping both ways (with insurance). Also, will be taking pictures and video the same day I ship to document what shape it’s in.

I understand most of you are going to say, “No way, would never do it.” However, this saddle, while very nice, is made by a lessor known maker. So any interest is welcomed.

Take a look at Fine Used Saddles’ agreement. It is pretty comprehensive and it is listed on their website. It would provide you a good guideline.

Be careful because some of it is state dependent. I can not remember exactly what, but my trial agreement changed a little when I moved from MN to VA.

I would word it less as a trial, and simply as a sale with returns offered within one week of receiving the item. (Or whatever trial “period” you want to offer.)
