Saddlebred Periaptor bloodline

I need some help with background on Periaptor offspring. What issues, if any, have there been? I have a 5 yr old grand-daughter and I REALLY need this information. Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Can you be more specific?

Just out of curiosity I looked up Periaptor and found this video. A “dumb jockey”? Never heard of one.

Just wanted to add that I found more videos. I guess I’ve learned something new.

I have never seen one in use but “dumb jockeys” ie side reins with a much higher attachment point, are used by some ASB trainers. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dumb%20jockey

Saddlebreds are desired to be “up-headed” and this device is a bitting rig that encourages and maintains the high head carriage.

OP, I suggest you ask a general question not specifically about Periaptor about whether dispositions, trainability, talent etc can be heritable in Sport Horse Breeding Forum. You may find that there are differing opinions on the matter, and differing opinions about which side, dam or sire, transmits which aspect of the horse’s future disposition etc

We’ve got an old Periaptor mare in the barn I ride at. She’s pretty game. Her colt (now 5) was kind of a chicken, but as he’s gotten more confidence looks like a decent show horse.

I’ve been told there is a reason why there weren’t many Periaptor sons standing. They tended to be a little tough.

Who’s on other side of the papers?

I had a trainer once who was very familiar with the line. He would never allow me to buy one as in his opinion, they tended to not have good feet.
