Ideas for a saddle for a draughty 14-2 Fjord. Rider needs a 17.5
Duett.
I second Duett. Depending on price range, there are other options with hoop trees, but Duett is a pretty standard mid range saddle for drafty/wide/hoop-y horses.
I rode my Fjord in a Prestige and a Trilogy.
We have fit a lot of Fjords and I believe they have all been in some type of hoop tree such as Duett and Black Country. They are almost always round laterally but can differ longitudinally. Some are flat front to back and some have a little curve. Sometimes a hoop tree with a full front gusset or deeper front panel is needed.
Black Country! That hoop tree makes all the difference.
