Saddles that fit like Prestige Roma - Specifically Childeric

Hey everyone

I have decided that despite all of my best efforts, my horse LOATHES my Prestige (which I bought brand new and have had scrupulously checked over and fitted to him multiple times)

I tried a ton of saddles before settling on this one, and have ruled out many major brands due to his conformation and mine. He is very short backed and, and will turn into a bronc if the saddle sits too far back. I am also very tall and need an 18" saddle.

We tried:
Passier
Prestige
Stubben
Albion
Verhan
Bates (he loved this one, Im not sold on it)
Schleese

I am a former hunter rider and used to only ride in Childerics (back in the day when they were the saddle to have. Would one of these work for us? Anyone have experience with the dressage models and how they fit?

I had a LOT of trouble finding a saddle that would fit both me and my horse and had to sell my beloved Trilogy Verago because it just didn’t work for him.

After many months we ended up with a Childeric DAC and love it. Go through a rep to try one. It’s the kind of saddle that either fits your horse or doesn’t. If it doesn’t, no amount of adjusting or tweaking will help

Thanks BigMama

My big concern is that he needs something with an upswept panel that doesn’t come over that last rib. I am a couple hours from the rep, so getting one on trial is going to be a bit of a challenge :frowning: I don’t want to do all that driving if it isn’t going to work!
