Sales barn in Mid Atlantic or winter location

I specialize in selling nice ottb’s but I bought a nice TB cross last year. She is a 5yr and quite attractive but is a mare  I have her with a really good local trainer who has been doing a super job bringing her along. However, she is just getting her name and business out there and there have only been two people to come look at the horse which is just tough because lack of buyers coming to see a horse means they are going to sit. Her trainer is heading south for the winter and can’t take the horse along so I am trying to think of other options. She hasn’t competed yet but has good mileage at clinics/trail riding/xc schooling. I thought the horse would be a super easy sale because she is gorgeous and quite nice.

Thoughts on a sales barn that has a lot of shoppers coming in and is reasonable on price? I am open to someone competing her a bit as well to add onto the price.

PMed you

In full disclosure, she is a client of MLE. But she is fairly close to you, so the most logical suggestion I have for you. Feel free to e-mail me for info on the sales programs at some of our other client’s farms that might suit you, just a little further.

She’s super cute and a great price! When we sold Leo almost every one who came to look at him had flown in from far away to look at a bunch of horses at C Square and other ULR farms. So I think getting her closer to Chester County would be helpful, although you only have a couple of months before everyone goes south. Also, I do think having a competition record, even at starter trials, would help. You could probably still get her into Plantation and St Augustine doesn’t close until the end of the month. Good luck!

Mel- that is what I was thinking…everyone loves her but she is just a bit too far away from the action and there aren’t many horses in this particular area to look at for sale. I don’t do much competing anymore due to time/etc so bringing her back to my place isn’t really ideal since she will sit.

Pippa Moon is also very good and has been selling horses very quickly!! http://pippamoon.com/

There’s a woman who trains out of Phillips barn while he’s gone for the winter… Carrie something? I can’t think of her name but that’d be a good place to try a horse, even in the winter!

I just looked at the horse (beautiful) but I realized I’ve never seen an ad for her and I’m a member of all the local facebook groups. Has she been posted?

Pippa Moon in Aiken

Shannon at Infinity Sport Horse sells tons in the Midwest, does lots of competing, and is going to Ocala and Aiken this winter.

Thank you kcmel! I think Sally Lofting is there to.

Sally is but I think she does more dressage now.
I agree on Facebook - put her on event horses for sale and eventing horses for sale (yes, two different groups). I think the unrecognized at Waredaca is still open for entries.

Another vote for Carrie Butler/Covey Run Eventing.

Super honest, and great at matching horse and rider.
