Sales barn recommendations in NJ/PA/NY

Hello all, I have read these forums for years now, never posted, but thought you all might be able to help me today!

I recently relocated and being new to the area I am not familiar with barns and trainers around here. I have a very nice and athletic young jumper that I am sadly looking to put up for sale soon. I want to send him to a reputable sales barn to be shown a bit in the 1.10, maybe 1.20m once’s he’s ready, and marketed. He can be a little tricky and has a lot of blood so someone with experience with those types is a must. Here is a list of a few places I’ve come up with, just from internet research, haven’t reached out to anyone yet, if anyone has any experience good or bad I would appreciate hearing them:

A&E Stables in Robbinsville NJ
CR Destiny /Cheryl Ruotolo in NJ
Brass Ring in Pittstown NJ
Blue Valley Riding Center in Pen Argyl PA
Four Branch Farm/ Erica Allegar in PA
KT Show Jumping in Bedford NY

Would prefer to stay in the NJ/PA/NY area so I could visit (hopefully weekly), but would consider the upstate NY area or New England area if I had stellar references and really liked the looks of the program (will be visiting before I send my horse there of course). Budget is very flexible depending on what program seems to be the best fit. I am of course open to any suggestions not on the list, These are just a few I’ve come across, I know there are so many barns in this area I’m definitely missing a lot. Thank you!!

Try Brittany Cooper Black Ridge Farm maybe she could help you

I sent you a PM!

thanks will check it out

I was going to say Andy Kocher, but he might not have anyone in the Northeast anymore. The man can ride anything and his brother and Tom Foley are quite good as well. I had a great experience buying my heart horse from Andy and he knows how to sell them.

I’d like to know more about these sales barns too but from a buyer’s perspective. I have been looking for a 2’6" packer in the NJ/PA/NY area under $25K so far unsuccessfully. If anyone has advice on these barns or others, I’d love to hear it.

That can be a tough price point, particularly if you are looking for a hunter. Kristy at Picturesque Farm in VA has had some nice options in that range, I’d recommend checking with her and following their social media - a lot of their sales horses never even make it to the website. https://picturesquefarm.com/ She has a steady influx of sales horses and truly enjoys making a match, and fairly represents the horses.

Thanks so much, Madison! Good to know!
