I currently have a 7-1/8 samshield, looking at ordering a onek online (local tack store does not carry) I tried on a friends size large, I think it might be a tiny bit loose, without the chin strap done up it does not stay on if I tip my head down, anyone that can compare the two in sizing? Not sure if a medium might be too tight.
Do you know if the one you tried was round or long oval? Might be it was round and you’d better fit oval? I’m a 71/8 and the large fits me (without a ton on hair done up) but only the oval.
I’m 7 1/8 and got a medium oval OneK Defender MIPS. I had a hard time believing that I wasn’t a large but tried about a dozen helmets that day and this one felt like home. I hope I still love it when I have to stuff a ton of hair into it, but that’ll be for shows only.
I went from a 7 1/8 Samshield to a large OneK. I was surprised at that, but it fits.
It’s possible your friend’s is molded to their head.
Get the helmet that fits you, ignore the size label.

I didn’t realize there was two different fits, the tack shop I was ordering from seems to only have one type and it doesn’t specify…weird
I went from a 7 1/8 Samshield to a Medium OneK with MIPS (Oval shape). The large was too big on me, even though it corresponded with the size I had been wearing.
