San Diego Breeding Farms?

Hi all,
I am getting my mares pregnant amidst a move to San Diego. I am looking for a breeding farm where they can live pregnant together, foal out and raise their youngsters. They are both very high quality show jumpers. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Tish Quirk does a wonderful job. Countless years of experience and the best possible care for the horses.

That is what I have heard, I have a meeting set up with her. The care is my biggest concern, they are my children! I am not sure how much space they will have at that facility though…

Land is very expensive so farms are smaller than in other states.

A friend has her two mares foaling out at a TB farm in Hemet. You could look around there.

What about Encinitas or Escondido? Does anyone have any contacts in that area? I would like to keep them close enough so I can drive to them daily, Hemet is just a bit far. Temecula might work too.
Any help is appreciated!

I board in Encinitas. I don’t think you will find what you are looking for in either Encinitas or Escondido. We just don’t have the land this close to the city & coast. You might have luck in Valley Center, Ramona or Temecula. Are you here yet? You can pick up a CA Horse directory, published by Riding Magazine, that may help you with contact info. Creek Hollow Ranch is in Ramona, not sure if they offer what you are looking for, but the owner might have contacts for you, too.

Forgot to add that depending upon where you live in SD & if you will be working, expecting to drive to any of these locations daily might not be realistic given traffic during rush hour…which is really much longer than an hour!

You can try Triple D Arabians. They are not all arabians anymore. They used to breed them but their daughter is not riding and showing anymore, so they have a few paddocks open. some are smaller, but she might be able to merge two to make it bigger.

Its a small place, not fancy, but give the best care I have seen since I have mover to So. Ca.

She takes care of the horses her self, and she loves them all like her own! It is in Temecula, out in wine country just off of De Portola.

Hope you find some where soon!

Tish’s care standards are better than most. She sets the bar very high.

Tish Quirk

WITHOUT ANY ??? she’s one of the LAST TRUE horsewomen left and you can restassure Tish will take care exceptional care of your broodmare and foal!!!

Not that I don’t love mine to death, but if I need to put them somewhere else, I don’t want to feel I need to check on them every day, or every week.

There are only a handful of places I would consider, and Tish’s is one of the very few with whom I’d leave my horses, and not look back.

Late to the party here but I’m also suggesting Tish Quirk. VERY experienced breeder and fabulous farm manager. If you want an excellent operation for your animals, look no further.
