Thank you for all your help and detective work. I am planning on trying on a friend’s vest and seeing if it’s a better fit and feel compared to my Airowear ones. I agree with Sandy’s comment that it feels like putting on a seat belt. I have more confidence when it’s on. I know, I know…it doesn’t prevent catastrophic injuries, but my own evidence from falls while wearing one tells me I’m less bruised and sore. And my various shoulder and rib injuries are much happier.
I recommend buying one of the inflatables and wearing it over. no bulk. just make sure you disconnect before you dismount!
Dewey is that the newest model? I tried it on and found the arm holes were awkwardly placed, restricting my up and forward motion? Maybe I need to try it again. I’m trying to avoid the “Ninja Turtle on horseback” look, which may just be impossible…I’m very thick through the chest and shoulders without being busty, so I always look funny no matter what I’m wearing! Lol, might as well just roll with it!!
Mine’s the Competitor–not the most recent model. Mine’s probably 3 years old.
