I watched a few of her rounds recently and admired how nicely her Racesafe vest fits under her shad. Does anyone know if she still uses that brand and which style she wears? I currently use an Airowear Hickstead from England and I like it but it’s still bulky under show coats (and as a fluffier middle aged woman, it makes me appear too fluffy!).

Pretty sure it is either the Tipperary Eventer or Tipperary Pro Eventer.
Whatever the brand, she doesn’t wear it under her coat/shadbelly. Maybe trying them over your coat/shadbelly can help?

Just FYI, safety vests are allowed under the USEF rules, so there’s no need to wear one under a jacket instead of over it.
From the USEF rule book:
GR 801.4. Any exhibitor may wear protective headgear (ASTM/SEI) and/or a protective vest either body protecting or inflatable, specifically designed for use in equestrian sport in any division or class without penalty from the judge. The Federation recommends that the vest pass or surpass the current ASTM standard F1937 or be certified by the Safety Equipment Institute.
I’m 100% certain she had one on under her shad in the hunter derby. In 2017, she was in a Racesafe vest. Maybe she’s changed. I cannot wear the Tipp Pro Eventer-- the arm hole design is very wonky. Thanks for the help so far!
That’s definitely the regular Tipperary Eventer in that photo. She had a vest on over her shadbelly in the green hunter incentive class a few days before the hunter derby. Do a google search for the video - I saw her trip on Hemingway. I don’t see how anyone could fit a vest under a shadbelly.
That’s definitely a Tipp in the link. I ride in a RaceSafe ProVent 3.0 and will say I love it a thousand times more than the Tipp I used to ride in.

I always notice pictures of her because I wear one over my shad as well. I tried finding a vest slim enough to ear under a jacket but no matter what, I looked like a hunchback. If you can find a pic of Sandy wearing a vest under a jacket, I’d love to see it. I would also like to know what kind of vest fits decently under a shadbelly.
She does take it off for the jogs and awards. She’s mentioned that in the article I posted, and that’s what I’ve seen her do at shows by me.
How recently are we talking? As of the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championship last month, she was still wearing it over.
Okay so I must need bifocals more than I thought-- I pored over some recent videos and it is over, but that’s not a Tipperary vest, so it must be a Racesafe? It is very close fitting and attractive.
It looks just like the Tipperary vest in this video made by Smartpak. The logo matches too.
Edit to add, the it vest I am referencing is the one in the COTH article linked above in post #3, I do not know if that is the same vest you are thinking of CalvinCrowe.
FWIW - Tipperary’s can be custom fitted. I just ordered one. Maybe that is why hers fits so well if, in fact, that is what she is wearing.
I have a Racesafe. I do not show in it; it is very bulky. I show in a Tipperary. There may be more fitted Racesafe models; I don’t know.
Dewey- what model Racesafe do you have?
The new Racesafe models look very fitted and less bulky. I’m seriously considering getting one and seeing how it fits. I need one that’s fitted and looks decent over a coat. I dislike the shiny surfaces on the Tips.
