I’m hoping to get some info on the sport horse reputation of offspring of Scat Daddy and Thunder Gulch? There is an 8yo gelding for sale in Texas (the owner is CLEARLY over-horsed) and a friend and I are considering a project. I know SD died at a young age and there are a handful of his offspring in the USEF database. Some doing eventing and some doing dressage.
There are quite a lot more TG offspring doing various events.
Do these stallions have any sort of reputation siring sport offspring? How are their brains? Any insight anyone can provide is appreciated! I’ve also posted in the Sport Horse Breeding forum.
I visited Ashford Stud a while back. They said that whenever they got a new, young stallion they would put him in a pasture next to Thunder Gulch. Apparently TG was calm and sensible and a good babysitter/neighbor for the young stallions.
