I am sending the gentlest hugs for being brave in the face of heartbreak.
I let my DSLD boy go when he was only 10 years old.
He looked amazing, the most beautiful copper gleam to his coat, but his eyes and mouth were pinched and his anxiety was increasing again due to the pain.
He was an incredibly well bred PRE who had been gifted to me for behavioural issues, I did the digging and got the DSLD diagnosis that had been the cause.
I only had three years with him but he was the sweetest most wonderful little horse with the best personality.
I still can’t look at pictures of him without bawling and the tears are flowing now.
Such an utterly hateful condition, I’m sorry your boy was taken from you too x
