I will never buy or ride in a schlesse saddle again. Spent 9k on a custom prolite which they never got to fit right. Tried to sell it for 6500 and no buyers. Dropped it down to 4995 and hoping it sells. I now ride both my horses in a shelby by Tobias Saddlery and it has been great
Great to hear this! My last horse died in 2020, and my Infinity is still in my closet. Just cleaned it a couple of weeks ago, and the leather is still just soft and lovely. Have fun!
ā¦hence my longstanding appreciation for them.
Once Passier widented their rear-panel channels, horses seemed to lift their backs to fill them up.
ETA: Hmm, I wonder what āwidentedā would look like. Obviously, I meant widened. Pfft.
Total aside:
Thereās probably a thread here devoted to treeless saddles.
Nevertheless, Iām here to say my limited experience with them has been good, bordering on great, and I struggle to understand why more people donāt use them.
Iām sorry. I donāt like this story one bit.
It looks as if you came upon a really lovely alternative, though. Iād never heard of them.
Wasnāt Frank Tobias a Custom fitter for a loooong time?
Yes. I had heard he had his own line nowā¦
Yes he was the Custom rep for South Florida for many years. He left and developed his own line. I went through 15 saddles for one of my horses and his saddle was the first one I felt truly secure in.
