Sealant for new concrete aisle?

I’m having a concrete aisle poured in my barn. Contractor wants to put a water-based sealant. Has anyone done this? I’m worried it will be slippery.

The aisle will have a textured finish and mats for high traffic areas. Just not sure whether to seal the concrete…

It is most definitely slippery. Can he add a texture to the sealant to mitigate that?

I think the texture is typically sand and I’m sure that will wear away quickly. Then I’ll be left with the sealant texture again.

Which you can recoat, if needed.

Smooth concrete is slippery. Textured concrete is slippery in the right conditions. Mats are slippery in the right conditions.
