Searching For Plus Size Western Show Apparel

I’m trying to gather a list of places that offer plus size western show clothes. And I only know of one place.

Hobby Horse. But that is the only one I know of. And the only one 3 of my other plus sized riding friends know of. Don’t want to wear the same thing in the ring as everyone else.

I’m a 2X in the waist, but because of my linebackers shoulders and my over-sized water balloons I must size up to a 3X. I don’t have the funds to go custom, and I’m looking into taking sewing lessons so I MIGHT be able to use the sewability(?) patterns sometime (maybe in the next 20 years!! )

Does anyone know of anyone else who offers plus sizes in western?

Note: I might get the chance to free-lease an adorable APHA mare and I’d love to do some shows.

Try Rod’s www.rods.com As I recall, they had a Women’s Plus line specific to their store.

Actually, you might be surprised at how affordable some “custom” options are!
One place I can think of off the top of my head is Triple Crown Tack Shop in MA, and on FB, Juls’ Designer Show Clothes.
Hope that helps!

Do a search on Ebay and Tacktrader. They show plus sizes frequently.

I happen to have a plus size outfit for sale that might work for you … it’s chocolate brown with cream lambskin --not a lot of bling, but elegant. It is a custom made outfit …

Sometimes you can find great off-the-rack shirts at non-horsie locations — at the mall, etc. — that are perfect as show shirts. Remember that a lot of the fancy things Rods, Hobby Horse, etc. run small. Even a plain solid color shirt could be blinged up at home fairly easily. But it does take more work to find the right thing if you are plus-sized.

Do you sew or kknow someone that does?
