Seat of the Wintec Pro all purpose VS the Wintec 2000 & Wintec 500 all purpose

So I’m looking for a saddle for my husband. He had the Wintec 500 for years (which is now the Wintec 250).

I currently have the Wintec 500 (the Next Gen version) and I love it and the improvements they made to it over the older (now the 250) version.

We do lower level eventing and are getting into TREC (which has an obstacle course phase to it) so I was thinking the Wintec Pro All Purpose would maintain the same flap proportions (not being forward cut and shorter like the jumper saddles) but with the slightly shallower seat with the squared off cantle (some of the TREC obstacles such as ‘low branches’ and working the gate require bending over / forward in the saddle and a deep seat isn’t exactly helpful hehe).

I’m just wanting some feedback from people who have the Wintec Pro all purpose in regards to the flap cut and the seat comfort.

Also, do you like the equisuede seat?

Thanks!!!

The current Wintec 500 and Wintec Pro a/p saddles are the same, with the exception of the faux-suede seat.

Melissa - Wintec’s website says Wintec 2000 and the Wintec 500 were the same with the exception of the faux suede seat, but the Wintec Pro All Purpose says (from Wintec & Stateline Tack websites):

Wintec Pro All Purpose
A cutting edge All Purpose saddle for riders who participate in more jumping and prefer greater freedom of movement in the seat.

Hi-tech and easy-care Equisuede offers the perfect level of grip for superior comfort and performance.

Features:

  • Soft seat is covered with soft equisuede for the ultimate in rider comfort and grip
  • Deep, all purpose seat with a lower, square cantle for maximum freedom for the rider

I’m just bumping this thread again since it’s been some time, I thought maybe a few more people might have the Wintec Pro All Purpose.

I’m curious if the seat is a bit more shallow (it does have the square cantle), if the flap has the same placement as the Wintec 500 AP, and if the stirrup bar has the same placement as the wintec 500 AP.

I do know the Wintec 2000 and the Wintec 500 are the same minus the suede/equileather differences.
