Seat saver for western saddle?

I’ve gone from trail riding in my Freeform, which was so cushy on my tushy, to a Western saddle for my new horse, which is not so cushy.

Any suggestions on good seat savers for Western saddles? My horse is green so I love having the horn of the Western saddle but my butt is calling out for the Freeform!

I ride with one of these… Best money I ever spent. It is warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

I like the Tush Cush by Cashel. Bought one for my boyfriend’s western saddle and he loves it. I’m going to spoil myself one day and buy one for my english saddle as well .

I have a sheepskin type that just covers the seat and it is very comfortable.

I have a sheepskin cover for 4 of my 5 saddles. Where my butt goes by sheepskin goes!

It breathes in summer and is warm in winter, and it helps my bony butt keep from going numb

I use the Cashel tush cush on my barrel saddle, which is what I’m trail riding the iffy horses in right now. I have the original one, not the long one. It doesn’t make my seat feel smaller. Just much softer. Without it, you feel like you are sitting on a fence board:no:… It’s not good! I have been known to use a sheepskin cover on top of the cashel on my larger-seated trail saddle. Now that is cushy:winkgrin:!!

I have the Cashel Tush Cush which has alot of miles on it.

I just purchased a Marino Fleece from The Distance Depot for a vacation ride out west. It fits the saddle seat plus comes down over the fences a little bit. It protects the knees as well as the bum. As I usually ride english/dressage, a western saddle is like riding a board to me. So hve used the fleece a couple of times, seems to work well.

I use the Supracor Seat Saver and it’s fabulous!!

Thanks, everyone! I’ve had a fleece before for my dressage saddle and liked it but I thought I might try something new with the western saddle as I have a bony butt and the saddle is hard enough that I’m not sure fleece will cut it!

I use this one

I LOVE it!
