Secret Santa 2021 is there a thread?

I’m in!

Me, too.

So when will someone start a Secret Santa 2022 thread?

I’m in. I loved it last year.

I didn’t participate last year, so I don’t want to step on toes if something is already in motion or someone is usually in charge.

If not, I don’t mind getting something started!

It looks like @J-Lu is who organized SS last year. I will message her to see if she wants to do it again. If not, it sounds like we have a few folks willing to. Did everyone like the single tier $35 format last year?

I liked the single tier $35 format.

If it’s single tier and $35, I’m in as well.

Oh Hey!

Hi everyone, I organized SS last year and I’m very happy to do it again this year! That said, if there’s someone who wants to take a shot at it I’m open to sharing what I did and experienced.

Since it is only Oct 4th, and is pretty much just the end of Summer/early Fall here in NC, I was planning on waiting until mid Oct before announcing and having a deadline mid Nov with a list of people who forgot and didn’t check in until the end of Nov (like we did last year). What we did last year was have the single tier format at $35, and I pretty much just assigned people in a chain in order of signing up. I was cognizant of people who bought for or were bought by the same people in the previous year and I could mix it up a bit. I did mess up a bit and people were so gracious with my mistakes.

So like I said, I’m very happy to do it again this year! If someone else really wants to do it, I’ll hand the reins of the sleigh over!

Let me know what you guys want to do!

I liked the single tier $35 format. It makes it easy for everyone.

I also thought the $35 format worked great. It was so much fun. Honestly, I can’t believe a year has almost passed already!

I’m open to anyone else wanting to host!

In the mean time, what do you all think about opening SS 2022 at around Oct 15th-ish and closing it Nov 15th? I’ll be assigning elves as we go so should be able to get emails out by Nov 17th or so. Would that give everyone enough time to contemplate and shop? Would November 20th be better? What do you think?

Some people don’t think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving and, like last year, I’ll have a separate group open until November 30th.

What do you all think?

I’ll tag everyone who recently posted here letting them know when the new Thread is up. I’ll ask Mod1 to pin it.

Yay, SS 2022!

I LOVE Coth SS.

And I like the single tier, although I usually end up going over because I have so much fun shopping!

It’s more a guideline than a rule :joy: :joy: :joy: I think we all go over, wherever we set it.

I have so much fun shopping and wrapping, too! Can’t wait!

Thanks, @J-Lu for being Queen of the Elves again this year.

I think single tier is fine. I do think moving the date up a bit would be helpful for folks trying to get gifts suited to their giftee’s biography (I don’t know about you guys, but I’m still experiencing slow shipping from most websites and some cases of limited stock).

J-Lu, thanks for agreeing to host again this year! I had said I would help (because I don’t want the SS gift exchange to fall by the wayside), and I will if you need me to. I don’t have a burning desire to do it…just don’t want to lose the tradition.

An Elf has told me that summer is freakin’ over. So have the trees and my horse shedding out his summer mousey color to black.

It’s time… A tease for COTHers who like teasing… Elves are tapping their feet in my direction… Watch for a thread to come very soon… Like maybe tomorrow…
