That with the silk scarf on you would be perfect!! I knew he’d look good in blue! He looks smashing in light blue!! It was so hard to pass your gifts along because my horse would also look smashing in that browband… Seriously, silk scarves are my go-to in cold weather. If I get too warm they are easily removed and stuffed in a pocket. But silk scarves, for me, are a staple in cold weather riding. I usually ride in multiple layers because I’m cold when I get there, warmer when grooming, warmer when riding.
I totally get the safety issues. I spent the very frigid Christmas barnsiting at my barn. I trust the BOs and they trust me. We’re all friends and another horse who had laminitis effectively had her pasture cut to a fraction, with help from the owner and the BOs by installing electric tape cutting off most of her pasture. Could you do that with the spring grass? It is so easy to integrate temp electric fence into the existing electric fence. You could temp fence away from the roundbale and give him more limited hay nets. Even if they aren’t interested in doing the temp fence, you could do it yourself. It’s not hard as long as they tell you where to shut town the electricity for you to make the final attachments. Several horses needed this at my barn, it’s pretty easy.
