I’m glad my cheekyelf is so smart!! I was notified in November about the game plan, that my sleigh will arrive before Christmas.

Oh my goodness, it was so exciting to receive a COTH Secret Santa package! My elf was amazing! I cannot imagine how she stayed “in budget”! A beautiful mahogany box with a carved horse and his loving owner on the top; Dark Horse chocolates, peppermint puffs for my beautiful Rocky Road, Tootsie Rolls, a book about Churchill Downs, a Painted Ponies figurine that exactly matches the decor in my office (where I am right now!), candy spoons to spiff up drinks, those little tiny mint white chocolate chips with sprinkles, a horse head chocolate lollipop and a Lang Folk Art calendar!
Cool thing is, I am VERY FUSSY about my kitchen calendar. People buy me calendars all the time and I thank them very politely and then I put them somewhere else and hang the only calendar I like —the Lang Folk Art Calendar, which I always buy for myself after Christmas when the price goes down a bit.
Hooray, hooray – no one ever buys me the right calendar and somehow my COTH Secret Santa knew exactly which one to get.
This has been very fun. When do I sign up for next year???

To my stealth elf – I am DYING to open my box but am going to try and hold out til Christmas. I’m thinking it will be perfect to open Christmas morning, as DD will be with her dad out of town, and Mr. 2HG will be working. Thank you so much – and I will let you know if I break down sooner. OH MY GOSH ELF,
I told you my gift wouldn’t last. I opened it within three minutes of starting at the box. I was having a very cranky, emotional day (pony came up lame :sadsmile:), and your gift almost brought me to tears (did I mention emotional?). I absolutely love it. I was totally going to use them this weekend, but we would up going to my dads for the football game. They will be used next weekend for sure, as our QB broke his leg and our backup QB is causing me to consume more margaritas than normal.

I came home Saturday evening to a box with my name on it! Weeee!!
I tore into it immediately (much to the chagrin of my cat who was demanding attention since I had been gone)…I love it all!
The rocking horse has made it’s way to my desk at work this morning…as did a couple of the picture magnets you made of my animals! What a cool gift! One is on the fridge to share w/ my grandparents, one will go to my fiance’s office and the rest are at my office! The homemade turtles have just about been finished off…my grandpaw loves them as well! Every time I walked past them, I just had to have another…The stocking w/ peppermints has made its way outside to the barn for the ponies. Milo is very happy about that…Chance is a bit ungrateful since he’s not a fan, but I just bribe him w/ his apple wafers and he feels just as special And EEEEKKKK some Higher Standards saddle soap!!! I had been wanting to try this out! It smells so amazing…I may keep opening it up and sniffing it randomly.
And of course, the card you picked is also perfect! I have it displayed at work as well w/ the card exchange cards I’ve received so far.

Yay, Belmont! Glad you liked them. A second box was mailed on Saturday so you should have it soon. I’m afraid nothing in it is wrapped (wrong size/shape and I couldn’t get it crammed into the box if I did…) but there’s a few more goodies on the way. There’s a little something for your pup (I hope it fits - you said she was little but this was smaller than I expected when I received it in the mail), something for your boy when you’re able to start showing him (sad to hear he’s currently off - sending jingles for a quick recovery!) and a few extra tidbits for you.

I wonder why Elves wait so long after the deadline, to send out gifts? I was a good elf & sent mine out the last week in November. Just getting anxious with nothing yet to open for Christmas.

For me, I was waiting for something to come in that that took longer to ship than the original estimate. But my giftee should have rec’d her box on Saturday according to tracking, and I’m anxiously waiting to hear if she liked everything!!

I am in Canada and in years past shipping has been an issue from both ends. However I’ve solved my end by simply shopping on US websites and having the shipping done from the US rather than from me. It’s not as home-made as I’d like, but it works.
Speaking for both myself as an elf and for my own elf, whom I’ve heard from by now but box not yet sent, the leading issue for late shipment seems to be waiting for stuff to come in in hopes of a complete box, and it’s topped by an ample serving of virus and junk going around that delayed the local compilation of gifts. But neither I nor my giftee are grinched!

I can say, I worry if everyone received everything I sent. I heard from one but I wonder about another. You always worry that mail doesn’t go astray.
