Aw, thanks for checking. I don’t want to bring anyone else down, so please don’t read any further if you’re not interested.

Chocomare was able to get in touch with my elf, and then Chocomare responded to my email/PM. Honestly, though, the response from my elf just raised more questions and doubts. We’ll see what happens, but I’m not hopeful. In addition, I also never heard from my giftee, though it was confirmed that she did indeed receive my gifts. Last year, which was my first year for this, was super fun - I loved every single second of it. This year? It’s left a really bad taste in my mouth, and most likely I won’t do it again. It’s made me very sad this year.

Thanks for checking, seabreeze! Chocomare got right back to me and contacted my elf, who said they were running behind. I get it that s*&^ happens. Chocomare said grinching isn’t declared until the 16th.

Luckily, I heard from my giftee who seemed happy with her gifts. That part was fun for me

This was my first year for it so I am kind of bummed. We’ll see if I’m in the Christmas Spirit next year for it!

I didn’t do it last year because my life was a little chaotic and I was grinchy. I really missed it because I get so very few gifts from family and friends. I send a lot but don’t get a lot.

Sometimes giftees are new people to the board or people that lurk.

My very first SS I had a newbie who lurked and to much of my dismay did not get much of a thank you. I was not going to do it the following year, but decided not to let one ruin all the fun. I am so glad that I did it last year, and this year as well.

I will always do SS. I get too much fun and enjoyment out of shopping for my person.

Please reconsider doing it for next year.

PS. I noticed that when I bumped up to the next dollar amount, the SSs and giftees are different. (just a thought).

So start saving now!

Yea, I bumped up for this year!

The thing for me, like jcraig, I get that shit happens. Life can get in the way, etc. But a simple note or PM, even through someone else, can make all the difference. I won’t go into any details, but I knew Christmas Day was really going to suck…and suck it did. Even just a small token, from someone who doesn’t even know me, would’ve really made a difference for me on that day. Now? My Christmas stuff is all down and put away.

I don’t know, I have 10 months or so to reconsider if I will participate for the next one. Perhaps, knowing what has happened this year, I will be matched with someone who is a confirmed gifter. We’ll see.

I Never received feedback or Any type of Thank You, from my giftee.
I ordered personalized gifts and hand shopped around a couple of nearby towns. I did spend well over my budget, excluding the shipping. A simple & courtious Thank You, would have gone far!

My husband just got a pink slip after 20yrs at the same company, we are absolutely devastated.

It’s the little things in life… like holding a door, saying hello to a stranger, or just a brief Thanks.
Sometimes a little effort can go a very long way, in making someone’s day.

The sheep will love the critter munchies if I can get them through customs, Hoover will live up to his namesake or not (the old man spits out CARROTS, for goodness’ sake!) but the sheepies would be all the happier. He’ll like the latigo over the nylon versions that came with my saddle, though.

I hope I thanked my gifted. I do not have internet at the house these days and have just recently added a data package to my prehistoric phone! It has been hit or miss with things going on a site.

My secret santa sent me the most amazing scents! A lovely Christmas pine that I even spritzed a bit around the barn so that my time there would be more like Christmas! Some lovely earrings in my favorite turquoise colors! Peppermint hand sanitizer that I will keep in the truck! I want to thank her, again, if it didn’t show up already! The screen is so tiny and my skills so poor! If this is a double post, please forgive.

The items were right, spot on to make my Christmas merry!

Just a quick update, I have received communication from my elf and have now received a package. I don’t want to “out” anyone, so will send thanks via PM.

Just a cautionary tale for everyone, I know we are all on different walks of life…but for some of us, the walks are a little more difficult and filled with all sorts of unseen detours. Just try to keep in mind that you never know how much light and love you can bring into someone’s life with this gift exchange. I have several gifts from last year that I use every day, and still smile at the amount of thought that went into them.

I hope everyone will stay with this. For some of us Secret Santa’s are the biggest part of Christmas! I came down with some sort of viral crud on the 8th of December. I was sick for two weeks but actually made it to the PO after a week with a surgical mask so as to not get anyone else sick. I had let go of internet as it just kept going up and the data package I secured did not go into effect until after Christmas. I still can barely use it though. Need more time at the phone! No kids or So to help and very busy friends. Please be kind if we are sometimes less than perfect!
