Secretariat colts born in 1980 - is there a list of them??

Hi all -

I was just reading the Secretariat thread on mares by him and I was wondering if there is a way to find out how many foals he sired in 1980 and who the foals were. I have a 28-year old gelding who is by him and I’m just curious as to where he came from. I have been in touch w/ the people who owned him from age 3 until about age 10 and they are trying to find his papers. Unfortunately his tatoo is too faded to read really anything off it it. In any case - he’s a great guy and looks a lot like his daddy. I just wish he was younger because he is very talented and has the best temperment and is just a nice horse to have around :). He’s my permanent pasture pet :D.

Thanks :).

By no means official, but there’s one here:

Just order up a Sires Crop Analysis for $18 from here: http://www.equineline.com/prodsamp.cfm

if you click on anyone of the headers on the progeny list on pedigree query, it will sort by that column which can make finding top earners, broodmare sires or year of birth a lot easier…

(and if you do, then you note some no account filly by the name of “Weekend Surprise” was born in 1980… kind of a good year for the red horse…)

Equineline is offering a freebie stallion report this month:

I sent you a PM :).

Thank you everyone for the links and info - i’m going to check them out!!

You could also go to Del Mar Pedigree - do a search on Secretariat - and get a progeny report. http://www.pedigreequery.com/progeny/secretariat

Having problems responding to your PT, but wanted to let you know that I sent the report as an attachment to your home email.

The report has death years for the ones that have passed on as well as color and sex, so that may help narrow it down for you.

Im sure you probably have all the info that you need, but www.tbhorsepedigree.com has many complete stallion produce records, Secretariat is one.

:p:winkgrin:
Doesn’t count unless you post a photo of him!

speaking of secretariat mare, I have one to give away if anyone wants her, she is out of a mare by seclusive and her dad is raja’s revenge(raja baba). I have very nice hunter babies by her (she is to this day the best mover I ever had) and just need to cut back on the extra horses.

This is him from last summer :).

Dont his former owners know what his name was? They had him from age 3-10, does that mean he never raced? Do you know for sure he’s by Secretariat, or did they just tell you that?

Okay, NOW it counts.
