My 18.6 yo horse was lightly sedated last week for hoof X-rays. He was put on blocks to elevate for the X-rays. This week, he is scheduled for floating.
I’m concerned that the sedation experiences are too close together. Am I overreacting?

I suppose the answer is - it depends on your horse.
Is the sedation for all these things being done by a vet?
Does that vet know your horse?
I would not be overly worried about doing that for any of my herd (who are all over that age).
Last year I actually did something similar time line wise. Had the vet out to do oral care (exam, floating) with sedation and then a week later the horse did something horse like and needed some stitches so mild sedation for that.
I also wouldn’t be too concerned. My mini needed many procedures over a period of 2 months last summer and he was sedated often with no issues. Just make sure the vet is aware of the prior sedation and they’ll be able to sort it out.
When horses are in a veterinary hospital it is not uncommon to be sedated daily or even multiple times a day without long-term consequence.
Unless there is a specific reason your horse is abnormally at risk of complications, I wouldn’t be concerned at all.
Yes, you are being overly concerned. If you have questions, ask your vet. But so many horses are sedated repeatedly for procedures at the vet that I doubt there’s any risk.
