Seeking Housing in CT

Hello, I hope this is allowed here. I apologize in advance if it isn’t and will happily remove it if needed.

I am a soon to be equine veterinarian (graduate in May) looking for housing for myself and my well behaved mix breed dog in southern/western/southwestern, Connecticut. I have a lot of flexibility on where I can live. I have had great success in the past living in barn apartments and would love to find one in Connecticut. I would happily look into other housing options as well. I am looking for something on the inexpensive side. I don’t need much room at all in fact, the smaller the better. If you have something that might work please message me. I’d like to keep some degree of anonymity here but, would be happy to answer more questions privately. Thank you!

I would honestly start searching the classifieds in the towns close to where you are working. That area of CT is expensive. From your post it sounds like your going to be in what we call the greater NYC area. Ask your employer and even check craigslist. Having a dog will also make it hard. Good Luck!

Thank you for that insight. I have looked around a bit and it seems like I could get a dog friendly apartment for around $1,000-$1,500. I’m hoping to stay under $1,500 with utilities if possible. I will certainly go the apartment complex route if I don’t find anything else. I am not really an apartment complex kind of gal, so it would be wonderful if I could find a nice little barn apartment or something along those lines. I have lived in barn apartments all over the country and had nothing but wonderful experiences. Luckily I still have plenty of time before I move so I figured I’d put some feelers out now.
