Seeking recommendations for a vet well-versed in PSSM in SEPA/NJ area

Exactly what the title says. I’m assuming the answer is going to be New Bolton but curious if there are other recommendations.

It seems like this is uncommon enough (especially type 2 in warmbloods) that even overall excellent vets aren’t necessarily well-versed in the latest and greatest. Especially looking for someone with knowledge putting together a feed/management plan if indeed the horse has PSSM.

If there’s some world expert slightly outside SEPA/NJ I could go as far as NOVA or CT but I prefer not to ship that far if I don’t have to.

I leased a horse that had PSSM. I believe the owner got a feeding plan with help from the vets at New Bolton and their vet at Quakertown Animal Hospital, but ultimately did a lot of research on her own (and my own, too). I think she was also able to contact with some of the vets here: https://cvm.msu.edu/research/faculty-research/comparative-medical-genetics/valberg-laboratory/type-1-polysaccharide-storage-myopathy. I know this is mostly PSSM1 but it might point you in a good direction.

KER has a lot of info for feeding as well, we used their RELEVE grain with great success, a grazing muzzle when turned out, watered hay down, etc.

Good luck, and hope this helps a little!
