V’tropez is still breeding in British Columbia.
It’s my understanding that you can’t get Baloubet du Rouet in North America for love or money (we’re expecting a BdR x Darco foal in June this year, so I went thru the breeding hassle last year with PSI).
We’re working on getting some QdR from Scanvet (Danish owners)- so far no joy.

Has anyone bred to Frenchman? He’s quite a looker with a spectacular pedigree and was also a performer. Very interesting horse.
Newsprint Farm was standing an American bred Olisco son out of Gem Twist’s full sister who is supposed to be SF, but when he was brought back to America from New Zealand, SF was defunct. I doubt if he’s been approved for breeding, but he’s standing. I haven’t heard a word about him in a couple of years, so he may not be active now.
Chatsworth Stud represents Querdolan Vitarel, but he’s a French AA. Does the SF branch here also have “jurisdiction” over French AAs? Their page says he went through the young horse testing in France and passed with flying colors–was denominated “elite”.
V’Tropez is also out of a Good Twist mare. He must be ancient.

My last project horse (sold in December) was a son of Ilian de Taute out of a RID x TB mare. Great jumper, good dressage if you really worked on it, good attitude.

I looked at your website and we have a lot of the same tastes (I’m thinking about mighty magic for a different mare). Can’t wait to see your v’tropez foal. we’ve been discussing V’troz for a Darco/voltaire/JaliscoB full sister to world cup mare Oaks Altes but have to wait till June when her Baloubet du Rouet foal arrives. I was so smitten with V’tropez I considered getting India, the argus dam of V’tropez approved son Magnum & trying to do another (india’s ancient too, but I quite fancied her bay filly by Capone 1).
V’Tropez is 25 now, but I bred my mare with fresh semen and I absolutely can’t wait for this foal to arrive. I would be very surprised if this foal doesn’t have jumping talent. Just think - Galoubet and Gem Twist on the top and King of Diamonds and Spectular Bid on the bottom. 1/4 SF, 1/2 TB, 1/4 RID - will have tremendous jumping ability and wonderful temperment. Good enough for a professional, rideable enough for an amateur.
In the last WBFSH Jumpers ranking 16 of the first 39 horses are by a SF sire (41%) and 5 are by Baloubet du Rouet (13%)

French breeders where the last one’s to acknowledge the quality of Baloubet du Rouet, they were focusing on the “look” of the stallions they used instead of the athleticism and performance… KWPN have 2, Holstein 1, SBS 1 and BWP 1.
Far West
I just thought I would mention Far West again and that his stud fee is very reasonable. My imported French mare had two foals by him. One is doing very well as a hunter the other as a jumper. The mare was a jumper in France and a very good hunter here.
I second, third(?) Equine reproductions(kathy), Edelweiss de Bonce, he is just gorgeous, and from what I have heard his get have great minds, which is so important for me, as my mare is VERY alpha and not always agreeable! Lol. I have a half selle mare(Roskoff) that I would love to putt her to, but I think she is just to ‘old school style’ and heavy:(. She has a fantastic walk and trot, but def needs improvement on the length of her canter stride, and from that as well, a longer neck.
