Selling a horse nebulizer

A friend has a horse nebulizer she used for a week. Her horse was originally diagnosed with asthma/allergies. Oops nope he really was a roarer and had tie-back surgery so she no longer needs it.
Where is the best place to list it for sale? No luck on Philadelphia Craigslist or local horse FB page. She is about to go to Wellington so could list it on Craigslist or a local horse FB page there.

Is there a good horse vet FB group for this sort of item or is EBay better? Or somewhere else?

With all the fires out west it seems like this would be something more people out that way might need. Do you have any horse friends out there that could facilitate a sale? I’m guessing it is not cheap and the person would want to make sure it works before paying.

Neither of us know anyone in CA. Although you are right that that is probably a good market for it.

Many tack stores take saddles on consignment… maybe a tack store out there would take this on consignment as well?

Or call some veterinary clinics and see if they can help you find it a new home. Your friend bought it after a diagnosis, that’s when other people will want one also. Print up a sale flyer and mail it to all the vet clinics nearby.

I would look for FB groups that may attract high performance riders- eventing area groups, jumpers, etc. Nebulizers are not uncommon in managing airway issues with upper level horses and I have definitely seen them passed around in those groups.

Go with the Vet connections to sell it. Maybe a big clinic nearby.

We got one used, thru our Vet for an allergic horse. Used it about a year, then had horse put down. He was having attacks every couple days, no recovery time. Attacks and meds were affecting his skin and health.

The Vet called us a bit later to ask if we would like to sell it? He has another horse with allergies. Well sure, no need for it now. We got what we paid for it and price was less than new, a good savings for the next owner!

You could also try advertising at Penn National, Parx, Fair Hill, or anywhere with race horses.

I tried to buy one here for my friend with her newly asthmatic horse but no one had one for sale so she had to shell out $1200.

Try TackTackroom. It’s a consignment online website. It’s a tad more geared towards clothing, tack and saddles but there are therapy items. I have bought items and sold items on it and they throw it on FB websites and advertise for their 10% consignment fee.
