Senior Yearbook Quote

I found a post about this from almost 10 years ago but figured I’d see if there were any new ideas!

I’m a senior in hs and need to submit my yearbook quote this week. Does anyone have any ideas for quotes, horse-related or not? I would love to do a horsey one, but something that people would understand.
These are some of the ones I have:

- “Beware the hobby that eats”

 • “One reason why birds and horses are happy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses”
 • “Been there… jumped that!”
 • "One reason why birds and horses are happy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses"

whoever wrote that never knew my daughter’s buckskin Morgan who made sure everyone and everything took notice of him…he was that Spirit cartoon horse in the flesh …looked just like “Spirit”

But for your question, maybe “A day without a horse is a dark day” ? maybe insert lost for dark?

I’m so glad we never did the quotes in our yearbook. I would go with something different than what you posted, esp those that mean nothing to non horse people (ie: been there jumped that… it just doesn’t sound ride if you don’t know what it is about).

“The world is best viewed through the ears of a horse.” is one that can’t be interpreted in a way that you didn’t mean and it makes sense… at least for me. I am always taking photos of landscapes/sunsets/etc when out riding in the field and frame it between my horses ears.

You should pick something that has had an impact. Or do what a friend did. “So…” He thought it was a stupid tradition.

Pick something that is meaningful to you. Something you aspire to, or maybe a quote or saying that inspired you. I used a Bible verse.

A whole thread with quotes:

Maybe you can find one there that fits how you want to be remembered from that yearbook?

“There’s nothing like the power of 1200lbs between your legs. It’s just something you can’t get from a pet hamster”

If the quote wasn’t already meaningful to you, then it seems weird to put it in your yearbook.

How about this: What do you hope the quote will say about you? What aspect of your personality or achievements do you want the quote to highlight? Or, complete this sentence: “When my old HS friends read this quote, many years from now, I hope that they will remember _______________ about me.” What’s a book or song that you really love?

Don’t sweat this too much-- once you graduate, the quote will be looked at maybe twice in your life. OK, maybe three times if you commit some crazy crime spree 15 years from now, and CNN shows a picture of your HS yearbook photo, and everyone says “Gosh, she seemed so NORMAL”. So rather than worry about finding the perfect quote to last for all eternity, just go with something that makes you smile now.

My yearbook quote was from the Lou Reed song: 'Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side." I was an honors student, hadn’t done much that anyone would consider wild, still haven’t, and I currently live in Iowa, the least wild place on earth. I guess I just really liked that song.

All that said, I like this one. It seems like great advice to give someone just graduating from HS and about to embark on crazy great adventures: “Half the failures in life result from pulling in one’s horse when it is leaping.”
